Dance Moms Abby Lee Miller Bags One Year imprisonment For Fraud
Dance Mom’s Abby Lee Miller has been convicted for bankruptcy fraud allegations against her. Dance Mom’s Abby Lee Mill after her conviction was sentenced to serve One Year in Prison for Fraud.
According to reports, the Pittsburgh dance instructor was sentenced to one year and one day in prison by a federal judge on Tuesday May 8, 2017.
The former Dance Moms’ star Miller, was sentenced after her bankruptcy fraud sentencing hearing in Pittsburgh last Tuesday.
A federal judge in Pittsburgh also ordered Miller to pay a $40,000 fine and spend two years on probation following her release.
Dance Mom’s Abby Lee Miller, was not only sentenced in prison for bankruptcy fraud but for also taking $120,000 worth of Australian currency into the country without reporting it.
Prosecutors said she tried to cheat her creditors by hiding $775,000 worth of income and deserved prison. While Miller’s attorneys argued for probation, saying her creditors were made whole after the fraud was discovered.
It was gathered that Dance Mom’s Abby Lee Miller had pleaded guilty to multiple charges of fraud against her last June 2016 for hiding more than $755,000 in earnings from the Lifetime reality show during her bankruptcy hearing.
However, this wasn’t the first time Abbey Lee Miller has faced legal charges as several dancers and moms have on different occasions sued her in the past for assault and emotional distress.
Remember Dance Moms, which debuted back in 2011, chronicles the chaos at Miller’s prestigious dance studio, where young dancers and their parents battle it out to win Miller’s approval.
Abbey Miller is known for her emotional blackmail of those who participate in the reality show, she’s always seen barking out orders and criticizing young girls until they start shedding tears.
Even when producers of the show-Lifetime are yet to officially renew Dance Moms for an eighth season, Miller announced in March that she was leaving the show, revealing on Instagram post that producers of the series had failed to give her credit for her creative ideas. She added she had been “manipulated and disrespected’ by men who “treat women like dirt.”
