Brief History of America’s Next Top Model
America’s Next Top Model
America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) is a reality television series created by world-renowned supermodel Tyra Banks.
The reality show which was initially aired by The CW network was canceled on October 14, 2015, but in February 2016 the show was picked up by VHI.
The series features a number of aspiring models who compete for the title of ” America’s Next Top Model”, $1 000 000 cash prize, a modeling contract with a top modeling agency, a fashion feature in Nylon magazine and a cosmetics campaign.
Selections of ANTM contestants are done through video audition and casting calls. However, participants over the years have been recruited through different methods.
The first series of America’s Next Top Model was aired in 2003 and 289 episodes have been recorded since it’s inception. The twenty-second season of the series was concluded December 4, 2015.
Unlike other reality tv shows where winners emerge through a public vote, America’s Next Top Model is structured in a way that contestants are judged weekly on their overall appearance, participation in challenges and the best contestants for that week’s photo shoot. In each episode, one contestant is eliminated.
We have taken the time to compile a list of all winners of America’s Next Top Model from inception till date. This list will be updated as soon as it becomes necessary.
