Casting the Brooklynettes dance team for the 2017-18 NBA season. Dancers will perform at all Brooklyn Nets home games at Barclays Center and represent the Brooklyn Nets at events throughout the NYC metropolitan area and internationally. Seeking females, 18+, who have extensive training in hip-hop and jazz styles. Entertainment coordinator states: “At the audition, there will be guest judges, celebrity choreographers, and Bloc Talent Agency’s Fatima Wilson in attendance. Prior to the audition, we will be holding a Post Season Workshop. You will learn choreography straight from the court from the Brooklynettes. This workshop will be held May 9 (6-9:30 p.m.) at Mark Morris Dance Group, 3 Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Dancers who participate in this workshop will receive a $25 discount from our new exclusive Audition Prep Series Workshop.
“There will also be a two-day intensive that will give you the ins and outs of the real Brooklynettes audition experience. This will be held on May 20 & 21 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) at the Arnold and Marie Schwartz Center on LIU Brooklyn Campus, 1 University Plaza, Brooklyn, NY. Day One/Session One: Learn the first-round across the floor/technique audition choreography; learn Brooklynettes audition style combo (hip-hop). Day One/Session Two: Learn Brooklynettes audition style combo (street jazz); receive professional insight from members of the team and audition tips from Brooklynettes coach/choreographer Adar Wellington. Day Two/Session One: Individual mock one on one interview sessions with entertainment director Criscia Long and coach Adar Wellington; learn the audition athletic combo; review Day 1 choreography. Day Two/Session Two: formation/staging/freestyle prep session; receive an exclusive Brooklynettes tank top; four dancers will be chosen to move pass first round of Brooklynette auditions; two dancers will be selected and signed to Bloc Talent Agency.
